Xperience Engineering National Finals

On the 10th of June Miss Grimes, Miss Coyne and Abbie, Jorja, Byron and Tom from Room 10 went on the 5:45am train to the Helix Theatre in Dublin to participate in the Xperience Engineering National Finals.
When we arrived at the Helix we were welcomed by the Xperience Ireland engineers. We were congratulated for getting to the finals and they told us what we would be doing for the rest of the day.

When we arrived at the Helix we were welcomed by the Xperience Ireland engineers. We were congratulated for getting to the finals and they told us what we would be doing for the rest of the day.
Firstly we had to display our project. We displayed our sketches, drawings, research and how we completed our project on a noticeboard. We then set up our wind turbine that we had brought all the way from Sligo!

Tom and Abbie stayed with our project and presented it to the judges. They answered all the questions that the judges asked and were delighted as the Judges were very impressed with our project.
Meanwhile Jorja and Byron went to a musical maths show.
After that we had our lunch. We then went to a science show which was all about electricity. Sue the scienctist carried out loads of experiments and used volunteers from the audience to help her.

Before the winners were announced each school received a cert for reaching the finals and had their photograph taken with the judges.
Although we did not win we were very happy that we had presented our project well and we really enjoyed the experience.
