Experience Engineering

We have been taking part in Xperience Engineering since January.
All of Room 10 took part in it. We learned about wind turbines and engineering.

The January sheet was about issues related to global warming due to climate change. Experts say renewable energy is a good alternative energy source to power houses without affecting the environment.

We made a renewable house with bio fuel crops and solar panels.

The February sheet was called "mathsstronomy". It was about how much you weigh in different planets, space stations, gravity, planets and height.

The experiment we did for the February activity sheet was measuring our height in the morning and measuring our height again at the end of the day.

The March sheet was about types of engineering: aeronautical engineering, material engineering, mechanical engineering and structural engineering.

We studied wind turbines, drew parts of wind turbines and watched videos of it. We also had a field trip to a wind farm.

Our wind turbine was made using a wooden ruler, paper, k'nex, chicken wire and base. We ripped off papers and glued them together so we could form it into a hill.

I thought it was very interesting and I hope we can do it again.
