World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day by having a whole school assembly last Friday. All classes participated. Children from Junior Infants dressed up as their favourite characters. They gave the rest of the school clues and they had to guess who they were. Can you guess who some of the characters were from these clues..

This girl has a black cat called Wilbur. She travels on a broom and she is a very nice witch. Who is she?
This little fairy is magic! She could make you fly with a sprinkle of her twinkling pixie dust. She is a great friend of Peter Pan and she lives in Never Never land. Who is she?
Senior Infants told us all about their favourite book 'The Pig in the Pond'.
There was plenty of action as the pig and the farmer splashed about in the pond!

First class dressed up as their favourite characters. They talked about their favourite books and told us why they liked them so much.
2nd class performed a drama based on their favourite book 'Fairytale News'. We met alot of very familiar characters!

3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes wrote book reviews. There were prizes for the best book reviews in each class. At assembley the prize winners spoke about their favourite books and read out their book reviews.
