After School Clubs
Every evening when school finishes at half past two a number of clubs run for the children to take part in. Teachers, Special Needs Assistants from the school, coaches and local people all help out as leaders. There are a wide variety to choose from and something to suit everybody. The children learn and develop new skills, make friends and learn how to become involved in a club. The children in the Computer Club which runs every Thursday interviewed the leaders of the clubs and took pictures of some of the activities going on. Read on to learn more!

Homework Club
There are 22 children and 5 leaders in the homework club. They get help with their homework from the adult leaders. But that is only one part of the work they do. To pump up your energy level they give you something to eat. Normally you would get biscuits, fruit or toast so you could work harder! When a bunch of the children are finished they go outside if it is a nice day. Indoor games include playstation, computer, board games and painting.
Greenfingers Club
In the green fingers club, they are involved in planting, growing plants, composting, making bird baths, art work and basically everything to do with nature! At the moment there are seven people in the club, and they are helping to prepare for getting our Schools Green Flag. The leader of Green Fingers Club is Gráinne. She is good at getting things to grow.

Computer Club
There are a maximum of 11 children in the club. Since September we have published cards, banners, newsletters, learned how to use a digital camera and found interesting sites on the internet. At the moment we are working on how to put a page onto the school website. The club starts at 2:30 and finishes at 3:30pm. We have made a PowerPoint presentation about our favourite topics, for example Liverpool and dogs. The computer club is suitable for all ages. There were younger people in it before but this time the 5th and 6th classes are taking part. The computer club is very interesting for children if they have a computer or can get computer access to do the things that they have learned.
The Drama club
In the drama club there is a maximum of 11 people. They are aged from 4th class to 6th class. It runs on a Wednesday from 2:30 until 3.20. When they come in first, they do a warm up, then they move onto a drama game and finally they use scripts if they working on one. They also do miming, tongue twisters, poetry, using props, and a sketch! They have not performed for the school yet, but they have performed for each other. Right now they are working on a play called Cinderobics. It's like Cinderella, but instead it's based in an aerobics class! They hope to perform it for the school. They enjoy the drama club and have lots of fun.
