On Monday 6th October sixth class attended an illustration workshop in Sligo County Library. The workshop was presented by the illustrator and author Annie West. Annie explained the process involved in creating illustrations for books. We found it really interesting.

Annie then showed us a sample of her illustrations from her portfolio. Some of them included illustrations from the book Moxie The Dog which Annie herself wrote. Annie then showed us simple ways of drawing facial expressions, people moving, cars, dogs, cats and cartoon characters. We each drew several sketches. Here is a sample of our work which Annie autographed.

We really enjoyed the illustration workshop.
